- [Instructor] Chapter 3-01, this is the foundation. Now this isn't the foundation, this is the piece of ground that we've created, ready to build everything from. So you've seen what the finished article looks like, this is where it all starts, okay? The below ground works, so any project that you're working on whether it's on sandy ground, on rock, then you'll need some sort of foundation, or at least the ability to drill into maybe a hard rock so you can put your building on to it. This one is probably going to be something like medium density clay, we've got a simple strip foundation and then we'll be putting the CMU blocks and filling those in with concrete as we build up our courses. Now obviously, I'm making massive assumptions here that this is going to be suitable for our needs, but always consult the structural engineer or ground worker or in the UK's maybe the building control officer can offer advice, but…
