- [Instructor] Hi, I'm George Maestri and today we're going to take a look at parabolas. So a parabola is really important for anything that is flexible and under the force of gravity. So anything that hangs between two points will form a parabola. So this is could be anything from a rope to a piece of cloth, really anything flexible can form a parabola. So let's go ahead and show you how to draw a basic parabola for something like a shade. So, I have a basic scene here and what we want to do is just create a parabola between the wall and these poles. So first thing I want to do is just kind of sketch it out. I'm going to draw a line from one side to the other. Now in this case, these are the same height and that makes it a little bit easier. But if they are at different heights, it will still work. Now the second line is the important one, it's really where you determine how deep your parabola will be. So I'm going to go ahead and snap this one to the midpoint because they are at the…
