Creating grungy surfaces for realism

- [Instructor] In this video I will show you how to add grunge, that is, dirt, dust, scratches, even graffiti to surfaces and this will make them look more realistic. One of the problems with a lot of beginner's work is that they just use the textures that come with SketchUp and it just looks too boring and too perfect. By adding grunge you can make things look much more realistic. So for example, I'll draw a rectangle here to represent a ground surface of some kind. And then I'll zoom in here and right click on that and make it reversed so that the white color is facing up. And then I'll use the paint bucket tool, and let's choose one of the material libraries that ships with SketchUp, I'll choose wood, and then I'll choose this first material here and apply it to the floor to have a bamboo floor.
