Creating diffuse surfaces

- [Instructor] Time to start working then with our generic material, and so let's focus first of all on creating diffuse or color properties for it. Now of course the steps that we'll use for creating this one material can also be applied to creating the diffuse properties for any surface that we have in our scene. At this moment in time then, our shader ball has the base gray material from the material list applied, which is in fact just a generic or V-Ray standard material. The diffuse properties, so the base coloration for the material, are being handled by the controls found in the Diffuse rollout of the Materials controls. With a left click on the color swatch, giving us the ability to alter the color of our surface, and so of we swap our mid gray for a nice bright blue and then click OK, we will see the geometry in the viewport turn blue.
