Create and nest a swatch component
- [Instructor] Now that our shelving unit is fully functional, in terms of its geometry and the number of shelves and the parameters that drive it, I'd like to add an additional feature to this, which will be the ability to cycle through a list of materials that we can set up beforehand for this shelving unit. So for example, let's say we have a wood grain, we want to apply to the shelf. I need to locate such a material. And it's always a good idea if you're going to apply materials to a dynamic component to make a set of swatches that you store with that component. This way if anybody purges SketchUp and gets rid of anything that's unused, you won't lose the materials that you're going to need later on. To make some swatches, all we have to do is make a surface of some kind, and I'd just recommend drawing a square on the ground. And by default that will be upside down. So I'm going to right click on that and say Reverse Faces. And then this will be one of our swatches. So thinking…
