Workflow with synthetic brushes

In this video, we're going to take a look at synthetic brushes, and the workflow used with a synthetic brush. So, in this case, I'm going to open up my layer editor. And I'm just going to go ahead and add a layer right on top, like this. So, synthetic brushes are synthetic equivalents of a natural paint brush. And if we look at our Brush palette on the left hand side here, these are the four synthetic brushes that are installed with the default installation on our Brush palette. If we open up the library, we can see we have a whole selection down here that we can populate our brush palette with. But for the moment we're going to use just these four to demonstrate the characteristics of this brush. So what I tend to do is, I select the brush. I increase the diameter and then just that profile gives me an idea of what that brush will look like. So imagine a paintbrush with this kind of density of bristles loaded with paint and you can get an idea of the characteristics of that brush…
