Introducing blend modes
In this video, I'm going to take a quick introduction into blend modes. So the way blend modes work are, we have blend layer that sits right on top of our base layer and the characteristics that we assign to that blend layer in combination with the base layer is the end result that we see. So let's open up the Layer Editor and also the Color Editor. I'm going to move the Color editor over to here. Let's hide this Blend Raw, and let's open up F1. Now this is going to be our base layer. And I have two examples for blend layers. And the first one is a gray scale layer. Now you'll notice, if I hold my Alt down and use my picker, and just go through each one of these individually. You'll notice it's climbing up the color wheel gray scale in the same increments. And right in the middle we have a nice gradual gradation from white to black. So this applies to a lot of the darken and lighten options that we're going to take a look at. But we also have some color options. So let's open up our…
