User archetypes

- [Instructor] User research helps us to uncover how a current product is being used and can define a need or an opportunity for a new product or service. It's also useful for characterizing different user types of the same product experience to address different needs of each user or persona. A user archetype or a persona is a design tool modeled after users to help communicate design needs. User archetypes are platform agnostic tool and typically you'll have various user types. User archetypes are derived from interviews and surveys to represent a set of behaviors and activities. For archetypes to be effective, they should reflect design challenges that they face. Communicating user needs across stakeholders can be more difficult than it seems. Personas, when created well, align teams by creating a clearer picture of the user.
