Sliders

- [Instructor] A slider is a visual display of modifiable content within a range. Sliders are often used to show range of relative values with the ability for the user to slide to adjust that value. Sliders are good elements for relatively compact use cases. They highlight a range of values and aren't necessarily precise. And sometimes they can represent a range that isn't measurable as a number. For example, if turning down the volume, you might see an icon on end for full volume and an icon on the other end for low volume with no numerical value. Volume using this scale is using a relative assessment of sound, at least as it's presented to the user. You can see this in this example from macOS for volume settings. Sliders don't work as well for situations in which precision and known number values are preferred.
