In this video, Renata breaks down the different file formats and sizing for Sketch. This is important to understand, so that when you export, you have an understanding of what's available and what to use when.
- [Instructor] Sketch makes exporting,…specifically for mobile apps, super easy.…Say for example, we wanted to export our bear icon.…We can select all the different elements of it.…Go over here, click make exportable.…And it shows us currently that it's going to export at one x.…But say we're building this for iOS apps.…We can click on the knobs here.…
And see, now we have all the different sizes for Apple.…If we need to switch to Android,…then we can switch over to Android.…And of course, it gives us the default…of the one x, two x, and three x for iOS.…And the…one x, 1.5 x, two x, three x, and four x for Android.…Which again, makes it super easy for creating these icons,…or any images that you're creating for mobile apps.…
At one time, before this was available,…designers had to do this all by hand…by figuring out the math for themselves.…Now Sketch makes it easy…and we can just export it how we need it.…We can even add a suffix at the end, or make it a prefix,…which will allow us to know which one fits which sizing.…
