Do you need more than just a design tool? Do you need a better workflow? John-Paul Ballard gives an overview of the depth of the user community and available workflow additions around the Sketch app from Bohemian Coding.
- [Narrator] With such a large user community for the Sketch app, there are not only a lot of available plug-ins, but also many applications that can further extend your work flow. Zeplin is a software as a service that takes your Sketch files and auto-generates a basic style guide that you can then extend with additional documentation. We'll look at this in more detail in another video in this course. This is their website, zeplin.io, and you can go ahead and sign up for free, and I'd like to show you a couple more tools that can help you with your work flow.
One that's popular in the Sketch community is called Marvel. It's a full-featured web platform for design, prototyping, and collaboration. It's popular in the Sketch community because it plugs in directly with Sketch, so it's designed to work with Sketch. It's worth checking out to see if it's a good fit for you. But in this course, I'm gonna use something called Flinto, and their website is flinto.com. They have two offerings; one is Flinto for Mac and the other is Flinto Lite. We'll be using Flinto Lite, which is a web-based software as a service, and it is a quick and simple way to get your Sketch files into an interactive prototype or demo that you can easily show.
If you need something with more power to do more animations, you can use Flinto for Mac, which gives you a lot more power. There's more complexity. It's an extension that works essentially the same as Flinto Lite, but it is an application and it's sort of the advanced version. Also, Flinto Lite has a 30-day free trial, so you can sign up and follow along in this course. And so, with Flinto Lite, we'll be making our style guide, but you could do the same with Flinto for Mac.
