Guerrilla-izing scope
(delighful music) - Once you've set a research goal and picked the right method, you need to start looking at how to adjust the original method to fit your constraints. You can work backwards from your ideal situation to figure it out. The first place I look to cut scope, is the research goal. You should have already stated a goal to help determine your method but it's possible that you could break it down more. Let's think back to the e-commerce site example. We said we wanted to assess how well the current checkout process works for new shoppers. That's an excellent goal but it's still pretty broad. You could break out individual questions like, can customers find where to enter promo codes or is the estimated tax account clear? Narrowing down the goal might help you see an immediate way to cut. Then, you can start thinking about the details of the study. What do you need to build or demonstrate? How many sessions or participants do you need? How will you find those participants?…
