- [Instructor] Customization allows the user to have control over their tools to help expedite workflows and tailor the experience to their needs. While customization is an additional product feature, applications still need to have good defaults. Understanding your users and what they need is primary to designing a good default experience. Observing your users activities and tasks will help you establish a baseline of activities that can be available as common actions. Common customizations include allowing users to customize their own keyboard shortcuts, toolbars, layouts, and in some cases, menus. When customizing keyboard shortcuts typically you'll want to follow standard expected shortcuts for the type of program you're designing for.
