Working with tuplets

- [Instructor] To begin our adventure with tuplets. Go ahead and create a simple new score. If you have the exercise files, I've provided this to you. It's good to have a blank canvas to work with when first learning to input tuplets. So I'm going to go ahead and zoom in quite a bit on this. And I'm going to put some system breaks. Select the bar line and hit return or enter. So we have some pretty large sized bars to work with. That way we can view what we're doing a little bit easier. So the first step toward inputting a tuplet in Sibelius is to figure out what the defining note value of the tuplet is. In other words, are you going to input a quarter note tuplet, an eighth note tuplet, or a tuplet with any other defining note value. Keep in mind tuplets can start with one value, but can be defined by another. Like an eighth note triplet, that begins with a quarter note. To be successful inputting a tuplet, you…
