Trimming the second verse

- [Instructor] Just like how extending the second verse of your song can add excitement, shortening the second verse can have a similar effect. The most common way to do this is to make the second verse half the length of the first verse. Sometimes this effect is achieved by making the first verse of the song a double verse and the second verse a single verse. What makes a first verse a double verse or a second verse a half verse is down to the lyric. For whether you are doubling the first verse or halving the second verse, the effect is the same. Some famous songs that use this technique are Kelly Clarkson, Since U Been Gone, Katy Perry's California Gurls, and Oasis's Wonderwall.
