- [Instructor] Armed with your instrument change knowledge, let's take it one step further into graphic notation. Believe it or not, you're ready to create mysteriously floating graphic notations all over your score page. You just might not know it yet. Instrument changes do not have to be limited to normal instruments and staves. You can change a five-line staff pitched instrument into a single line percussion instrument if you'd like to and you can actually do this quite simply. So let's go ahead and try that first. I'm going to escape so that nothing is selected in the score. You know what to do. Go to the Home tab Instruments Group, click on that Change button and then find an instrument you want to change to. I'm going to go to the Percussion and Drums, Percussion 1 Line and click OK.
