Drum set notation: Step-time

- [Instructor] Step-time note input of a drum set part is perhaps the fastest way to input drum notation, because if done properly, you shouldn't have to go back to adjust note heads after note input. Everything should be input properly for you with the touch of a key on your MIDI keyboard. When using the MIDI keyboard to input the pitches of the drum set notes, there can a bit of confusion, because some notes that appear to be in the position of note letter A on the staff might actually be input with the MIDI key A sharp or A flat. The difference between the MIDI input keys will not affect the position of the note on the staff. The note will appear in an A position, but rather the type of sound and note head that you end up with will be different, depending on the MIDI key that you're using to input the note.
