All voice and assigning text to voices
- Notes and rests are not the only objects that can be assigned to voices in Sibelius. In fact, any object, including text objects, can be assigned to a specific voice. Assigning text to a specific voice means that it will only affect that one voice, leaving the other voices alone. A great trick for adjusting the playback of your score, for example, is assigning separate dynamic markings to each voice on a staff. By doing that, you'll be able to pull different notes and voices out of the texture during playback, pushing others into the background, almost as if you're automating your mix. To input dynamic markings into multiple voices, in the first bar of your score that contains four voices, select the first note in voice one. So I'm going to make my way here, to my bar five. If I double click, you can see that all four of these bars have four voices in them for us, for now. And I'm going to select the first voice one note.…
