- [Instructor] One of the more challenging aspects of running your first online store is figuring out the best way to ship your products. In general, there are three ways to display shipping costs to your customers. The first is to offer free shipping and you, the store owner, pay for shipping yourself. The second is flat rate shipping where you an offer an estimate of shipping costs which the end user pays. And the third is to offer live rates directly from your shipping provider, such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx. Free shipping is the easiest to set up and it makes your customers pretty darn happy. Having shipping costs that are too high is one of the main reasons customers abandon a cart, so if you can make it free, you will avoid all of that. The next easiest option is to offer a flat rate.
