Now in this movie, I want to talk about shooting daylight exteriors. Whenever possible, I recommend using natural lighting for a couple of just practical reasons. First off, it's free. Secondly, it's 100% organic and it looks absolutely beautiful if you use it right. Now the way to use it right is to harness the power of the sun, and the main tool we use to harness the power of the sun is a reflector. Now reflectors come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, so I want to talk a little bit about the different types of reflectors we might use and when they're best applied. The first thing we want to consider when it comes to reflectors is reflector texture. So two types of textures when it comes to reflectors, just like with lighting, soft and hard. Now how can we tell the difference between a reflector that's going to give us soft light and a reflector that's going to give us hard light? And that's by the actual surface.
