If you're editing the project yourself, you most likely already know the main info you need for post-production, because you were there on set and made all the most crucial production decisions. However, if you plan to hand your footage over to a professional editor, there are several things you'll want to do before shooting and handing off your footage. First, discuss the shooting format and camera settings. This is vital that you go over the number of cameras, make and models with your editor. There's a big difference between editing footage shot on a Black Magic or Red camera and something that might have been shot on a Sony EX3. And there's also a big difference between a three camera shoot and a one camera shoot from the editing side. They can greatly expand the budget.
