What Is a Lookup Table?
- Hi, my name's Rich Harrington. - And I'm Robbie Carman. - And welcome to this week's episode of Video Gear Weekly. We're going to talk about lookup tables, or "LUTs" this week, which is a topic we've broached before, but we're going to take an in-depth look and teach you how to make them, how to use them, and what they're good for. - Yea, and LUTs are a pretty complex subject. You know, over the past four, five, six years, as more cameras have started to shoot LOG and RAW, and things of that nature, you know, people talk a lot about LUTs. And put simply, a LUT is just a way of converting data from one place to another. So this week, as Rich mentioned, we'll show you a couple different ways to work with LUTs, and access them so you can be a little bit more versed in them in your own workflow.
