Using corrective gels

Now in this movie, I want to talk about lighting gels. Lighting gels are an essential accessory to have for any lighting kit. They allow you to get much more bang for your buck when it comes to lighting by allowing you to change color temperature, color, and the quality of light. So I am going to demonstrate what a couple of these gels do, but first we got to talk about how we apply a gel to a light. So I am just going to raise this light up here and pull a little piece of gel right here. Now lighting gels, by the way, come in very large sheet. You don't usually need that large a sheet if you have small gel, so you want to take one of those large sheets and cut it into a piece that's small enough and appropriate for the size of your particular light. And we are going to use these state-of-the-art filmmaking tools that I have right here, known as C47s.
