Recording an interview remotely with Skype
Rich: While there are lots of apps out there that make it easy to have voice conversations with people around the world, one of the most popular ones is Skype. And there's a whole sleuth of third party utilities that make recording very easy. Here you see a list of some of the most popular ones, and they all have pluses and minuses. So, you'll want to check out some of the online reviews for these. And, take a look at some of the other tools that are available as well. I'm using Call Recorder here, and it's installed and automatically launches when Skype comes up. You'll notice that it's a pretty simple interface. I can click the Settings menu and it brings up the Skype preferences. This gives me the ability to set the compression level. I really like that I could do an uncompressed audio file for maximum quality or use the two to one compression to get an efficient file that's still very, very high quality.
