Positioning the interviewer
Female 1: Let's talk about positioning you, the interviewer, because you're just as important as the subject. And, just like your subject, we don't want you in a swivel or squeaky chair. Especially swivel chairs are bad for interviewers, because if you start moving around, your subject's going to be moving around looking for you. So you want a chair that's going to position you in a way to keep your eye line with your subject, nice and calm. Male 1: And this is going to be important, because remember you're going to be leaning in and trying to engage. A lot of times a lean in is a very effective move to just let the person know you're actively listening, and this really become important. Now all of these movements, what's really critical is that you maintain proper eye line. And personally in me, I often find that I need to have a conversation with the director of photography. I also often ask, do you want me on this side or this side? You know they have a, an idea of how they framed…
