Overview of the workflow

Let's begin with an overview of the work flow for a typical promotional video or corporate video, starting with the first steps. The very first thing we want to do is research the client's website and any previous promotional material they may have produced. Next, we're going to set up an initial client meeting, and during that meeting, we want to make sure we determine the client's goal, budget, and schedule, and whether or not we can even deliver the project that they want. We want to submit a treatment, or statement of work for client approval after that, and then we want to make sure we get a signed contract based on that treatment and statement of work. The next phase, once all of those things are settled, is pre-production. Now we're ready to get down to the work of planning the shoot, starting off by making a production plan and a schedule for shooting.
