- So I just covered the formal techniques for an Interrotron setup, but there are also some less formal ways to pull off the same effect that don't involve using a professional teleprompter. So I'm gonna share two quick down and dirty ways you can also get your interview subjects looking directly into the camera. So the first set up is fairly simple. All you'll need are two cameras on tripods, same as before, with the best camera trained on your interview subject, and the other camera pointed at the interviewer. Then all you all you need are two monitors or TVs hooked up to those cameras via whatever type of video cable they take. But for this poor man's Interrotron, you don't need a teleprompter. Instead you would set your monitors right at dead on eye level, then position each camera so the lens is as close as possible, or even touching the top of the monitor. In order to mimic the effects of a true Interrotron, we need to get as close as possible to a direct eye line. So for this…
