- A lot of times you have problems as you cross platforms when it comes to media. In my own shop, we have just as many PC's as we do Macs. We always have to put extra thought into how do we format our drives? - Yeah, this is something that's driven me crazy for a hundred million years. It's sort of like, why can't we have a universal sort of drive format? You know, we have HFS Plus on the Mac side of things, FAT32, NTFS, all these different formats. I get why they exist. For different versions of operating systems and where technology was at the time, but it would be great if we had something universal. And fortunately, there's close to universal. I mean, and there's utilities that sort of make for universal access. Now Rich, one thing that I find myself doing a lot, especially with the production workflows, when I never know if a drive is going to end up on a Mac or PC, is that I'm not formatting it as MacDrive.
