Menu options of the Olympus OM-D E-M1
- With Olympus cameras, you sort of have a choice, there's really two types of menus. You've got your standard pages of menus like you're use to on lots of cameras, but even when you're shooting, I could actually access quick menus, so I hit the 'OK' button there, and now I could step through several options and change things without having to go to the menu, or you got the quick buttons here. Oh, there's my shooting time, and across the top, I've got the ability there to change my HDR mode. Flip this switch into mode '2' and now, different controls are going to come up as you hit those buttons and so now I'm dealing with things like exposure compensation or the flash. - Yeah, and a lot of this is also customizable. How you want things on different menu options and the different function buttons... That kind of thing. I agree with you, I do like how Olympus is approaching this. A lot of manufacturers have kind of gone to this sort of floating option approach; sort of just an overlay…
