Macro lenses
A macro lens is essentially a normal lens that has a specialty function. So what a macro lens does is do extreme close-up shooting. So any lens you see that's marked as macro can do extreme close-up shooting, but it can also still do the normal range. So for example, I've got a 100 millimeter telephoto lens right here. It's going to work as a great 100 millimeter portrait lens, but also if I just turn the focus ring all the way to the other end, it's going to work as a macro lens. So what does that mean when I say extreme close-up shooting? It means that I can shoot things very close to the lens. For example, I was just doing a little test right before we started shooting here. And I was holding my finger at about eight inches or so from the lens, my entire finger filled the entire frame.
