- Rich, one of the things that's always gotten me about like PSA-type ads or fashion commercials is how like just glossy everybody looks. It seems like they have this really unique lighting that, until a couple of years ago, when a DP explained to me exactly what was going on, I never realized that it was through something that I've used in Photography before, but never used for Video, and that's a ring light. - Yeah, and there's a lot of manufacturers out there. The thing is that these just keep getting cheaper and cheaper. This one's from a company called, ikan. It's about 350 dollars, list price. You'll find ones out there that are more expensive or less expensive but I really like this because what we have here is it runs on two Sony batteries which makes it really easy. I'm going to turn this on, you'll see how bright it gets. We'll ramp that up slowly. It gets pretty intense. - It does. - And we can turn that down. And because it's around the lens, it creates a very pleasant…
