Getting good coverage for your sport shoot

- Deciding what to shoot and how to shoot it so that it all comes together in editing is always a challenge for fast paced, one time only subject matter like sports. You have to constantly be editing in your head and thinking through all the images and shots you'll need to capture to tell a complete and representative visual story. So the first thing we have to think through when choosing how to cover an event is what type of sports video we're shooting. There are a few different types of sports videos that people typically shoot and each requires a slightly different approach. I'll break them down into three general categories. There's the Full game video, documenting the whole event in near real time. The game Highlight video, editing the game or event down to just a few tight minutes to summarize all the events and show only the best moments in scoring plays, at least the one's you were able to capture.
