- Aright, as you saw in this week's episode, as well as the first part where we took a look at wide angle lenses. This is a great addition to your toolkit. Now this should be the second lens you buy, or even the third lens you buy, but it's probably the fourth or fifth. That ability to see a wide master shot without having to do a pan is great. If you're shooting action, you're shooting outdoors, you really wanna good establishing shot, this is a necessary addition to your kit. - Rich, I can't agree with you more. Wide angle lenses are great, but they have a specific purpose. If you're looking for a general all-purpose lens a wide angle seven, or 12, or 14 millimeter lens is probably not the best choice. Wide angle lenses have specific uses and when you combine the fact that wide angle lenses can be prone to barrel distortion and other geometric oddities you have to be aware of that. It's not something that you have to avoid, but it's something that is unique to wide angle lenses, especially the bigger image sensors that you work with are gonna have those sort of geometric things even more pronounced. - For Video Gear Weekly, my name's Rich Harrington. - And I'm Robbie Carmen, thanks for watching.
