Join Anthony Q. Artis for an in-depth discussion in this video Car rig safety tips, part of Pro Video Tips.
- So we talked about some of the practicalities of how…we mount this and keeping things on there securely,…but one thing we haven’t talked about yet…is just some basic safety.…So what is some of the main safety concerns…when we’re doing a car shot like this, and we’re driving?…- The most important things is…you need permit and insurance.…That’s top of the line.…- So I can’t just tear off down PCH with this right now?…- No, unfortunately not.…- Okay.…- Every permit office is going to be a little different,…so you have to call your local office,…talk to them, see what they require.…You’re gonna need insurance,…and they might have certain restrictions…like only beyond these roads, only these hours.…
If it’s a big rig with a lot of people,…they might want you to have a police escort.…So that’s all stuff you have to…talk to them and figure out.…Insurance is one of those things.…You need liability and equipment coverage.…Let’s say your guy didn’t do the greatest job ever.…He didn’t pay attention to the video,…the rig falls off, he could cause an accident.…
