Male 1: When it comes to getting a good audio interview, most of the things you know about video interviews will apply. But there are a few things I'd like to point out that you pay extra close attention to. First off, it's critical that you ask open ended questions. You want people to give you adequate details so you could really tell the story. Plus audio interviews frequently run longer than video interviews. It's very common for audio podcasts to be 30 minute shows, even an hour long, while a video segment on the web is typically about three minutes. This is just a huge difference in the medium, and most people listen to audio a bit more passively. Rather than taking time out just to watch that video, they're doing things like listening in the car or taking it to the gym. Thanks to the rise of portable media players, audio interviews are often much more in depth.
