- So Rich, one of the awesome things about these systems is sort of the cold shoes here at the top. Now just to be clear, these are cold, not hot. Meaning that they don't pass any electronic data, provide power, do anything like that. In my experience they're pretty sturdy, but just be careful when you're putting accessories up here because they are just plastic and if you kind of pull too hard or twist them the wrong way you can kind of break these plastic tabs, but if you're careful, they work great.
