- [Narrator] Unlike the basic page that we discussed in the previous lesson, a web part page is far more complex. Web part pages are what you see when you create brand new sites. For example, this training site here, which is a team collaboration site, the home page is really just a customized web part page. Now to really understand web part pages, you need to know what a web part is and a web part is really just a modular component of functionality that provides additional features to the user when added to a web part page. So some examples that you see here on this page include links, we've got announcements here, here's another web part called Calendar which is going to display my events in my calendar list. So, a different way to display contents. Of course we can get to all of the site content through our View All Site Content link over here in the Quick Launch area. By using web parts, we can display them on pages. And those pages are web part pages. So that's what we're going…
