- Let's talk for a moment about what we're going to build, and why the heck we'd even want to build something like this. We're gonna start with a client Windows 8.1 machine. Now, the Windows 8.1 machine should have as much possible memory, as fast as a drive, just the best possible hardware configuration that you can possibly get. But you're probably starting with something that you already have, in most cases, of course. This Windows 8.1 machine does need to support the ability to enable the Hyper-V role. We will start with a Windows 8.1 host machine and we will go through the entire process of enabling that role. But on the host machine, we don't show the install of the 8.1 operating system. We're starting with the vanilla, Windows 8.1 host machine that's updated to the latest updates as of the recording of this course. Then, we go through the process of creating the virtual networks that we'll use in our environment. Then, we'll create three virtual machines, and then those virtual…
