In this course—the fourth installment in a series—learn how to leverage external third-party libraries in your SPFx solutions.
- [Instructor] Hi, my name is Sahil Malik, and welcome to SharePoint Framework, Managing External Libraries. SharePoint Framework, or SPFX for short, presents for the first time a modern cross-dev story that is consistent between on premises and the Cloud. It believes in providing you with a development experience on rails, patterns and tools that encourage you to color within the lines, not try to un-SharePoint SharePoint, and keep it reliable and supportable.
Writing code for SharePoint Framework means writing code in typescript. This also means, that for any serious solution, you will end up taking dependencies on external libraries, like jQuery, Bootstrap, React, Knockout, Angular JS, et cetera. Should you bundle those libraries with your solution, or should you externalize them? Should you share them across your solutions? These and many other such considerations are what you'll need to answer when writing SPFX solutions.
Luckily, SPFX is at the heart of many of these scenarios and in this course, I will cover all of these scenarios, and as usual, a number of other practical tips. I had a great time recording this course, and I hope you will enjoy watching it too.
