- [Instructor] The activity feed of my home page has three different views and I get to chose the default. The first is discovery and it's the current default. What I see in discovery is content from the network that has been curated for me based on an algorithm that looks at my activity, my profile, and other information from Office Graph. Discovery says, "Here are the things we think you would most be interested in looking at from across the company." And the more that you use Yammer the smarter Yammer gets at curating content in discovery feed. All shows you all the public messages in the entire network whether they are associated with the group that you are working in or a member of or not. As Yammer is used more and more in your organization this feed will have more and more messages and it will feel like you are drinking from the fire hose because it's all here. There's a use for it but. The next choice is following. Following allows me to see people that I have chosen to follow. Before I show you how to follow someone let me show you how to tell Yammer what feed you want to use. If I always wanted it to start with following, these would be conversations involving people, groups, or topics that I was familiar with, I would simply choice following, click the gear and say remember my feed selection. The problem with doing that is it's only going to let me see the things I am very focused on as a default. I actually prefer to use discovery as my feed by default and quickly switch to following. Sometimes what pops up here is things that I should be interested in that I would've noticed otherwise. Remember my feed selection now let's go to following. In the next movie I'll show you how to follow both people and topics, so that you get to curate what shows up on your following feed.
