Understanding site content type policy

- [Instructor] We discussed content types in a previous lesson and how it can save you time when creating content in a site, and it works similar to a template. We can also assign an information management policy to a content type so every time content is created using that content type, the policies will apply. Here's how we do that. From the Home page here I'm going up to my Site Actions drop-down and I'll click Site Settings. This time, I'm going to go to my Galleries and click on Site content types. Here is see a list of all of my site content types. Some of these are core content types that cannot be adjusted. So we cannot apply policies to them. The ones that are custom, the ones we create, we definitely can. Here, underneath Document Content Types, I have a content type I created earlier called Confidential Documents. When I click that link it takes me to the Site Content Type Confidential Documents screen. Here under settings, I have a link to Information management policy…
