- [Narrator] I have some advice for anyone hoping to boost digital transformation in their organization. Make sure your current processes are well-defined before you start. The thing is, if your current processes are clunky, hard to follow or broken, well that needs to be fixed first. Let me share a somewhat fictionalized example. In the XYZ supply company, when a new customer is set up, they're all supposed to have a contract on file defining payment terms, discounts, returns, et cetera. When an order is filled, someone in finance puts together an invoice based on the required materials and the contractual relationship details. Frequently, orders arrive before contracts are signed and registered. Now in the past, account managers would be notified and it would be their responsibility to follow-up and make sure that things got taken care of.
