- [Instructor] I want to finish off the groundwork laying part of this course by discussing a couple of more specialized types of content management systems. The first type for us to look at is a digital asset management system. So how does this stand out from a more standard CMS? Well, as the name implies, digital assets management is primarily focused on digital assets, such as images, videos, audio files, et cetera. The biggest differentiator between these and a standard CMS is that they typically have built-in tools that will facilitate the rendering of the assets into all kinds of different environments. For example, if you're working with images, a digital asset management system should be able to take your large, high-resolution image and automatically optimize it to display best in whatever channel you publish it.
