- [Callahan] Hi. My name is Callahan and welcome to Planning and Designing a SharePoint 2016 Deployment. This course is intended to give an IT professional an administrator's understanding of what it takes to implement SharePoint successfully. We will take a look at what is required to properly prepare for an organization SharePoint implementation, exploring everything from what SharePoint is to what SharePoint requires to how to gather the information about what your organization requires from SharePoint and how to design your implementation based on those requirements.
SharePoint is really easy to install and configure, it tempts an administrator to install it first and think about what they want to do with it second. That's an easy way to have your SharePoint deployment fail. In order to have a successful, carefree user adoption, the product needs to work from day one and the only way to ensure that is to create a plan and stick to the plan. If you are a Windows server administrator who is going to be responsible for their SharePoint farm and you have network administration experience and a working knowledge of Sequel Server, this course is for you.
