- [Phil] It's time to start working on some changes to our site. We're going to start by changing the look and the feel of the navigation. But before we make any changes let's chat for a moment. Now thing number one we need to talk about, SharePoint new or modern experience versus the classic experience. Microsoft has made some weird decisions about how the modern experience affects your site. We'll talk about themes a little later, but in a nutshell, modern experience pages will override classic themes. This site's homepage is a modern experience. So even though I selected a theme with navigation along the top, the homepage navigation is on the left. Now I'm sure that Microsoft will fix this at some point so that themes are site wide, but for the moment I can't show you all the things that I want to be in a new experience page. So I'm going to switch to a classic page for this section. Next, a question that I want to make sure you're asking yourself before you do any fancy…
