- One of social medias advantages over email is the ability to quickly show that you appreciate what someone has written or that you agree with what they have said without adding one more item to their inbox. And to do that, you simply click on like. Just as you would on Face Book or elsewhere. For example, here is Charles Woodwick's post on a research paper. I'd like to give Charles a big thumb's up and say that's great, I simply like it. And I join Joe Blickman who's liked this already. If I change my mind, I can stop liking this message by unliking it.
