- [Instructor] Another foundational tool I want to introduce to you, let's talk about JSLink. The original purpose of JSLink was to allow developers an easier way of styling web parts. In the bad old days, this was a real chore. You had to use a special style sheet language. It was powerful but way too complicated, so most people just didn't bother. JSLink is much easier and quicker to use since you write your changes using standard JavaScript and HTML. And because it's using JavaScript and HTML, you can do a lot more than just cosmetic changes with it. And it's built right into SharePoint Web Part Properties. When you're in the Web Part and edit the Properties, if you scroll down to the bottom and open the Miscellaneous section, there's a field for JSLink right down there at the bottom. Now, not every type of web part has JSLink available but lists, list views, list forms, site columns, some very important and widely used parts, they all do with the exception of calendar views.
