[Lecturer] - If you wanna prevent people from editing a document in the SharePoint library, you're gonna need to require the checking out and checking in of documents. And that's what we're gonna do in this movie. We're here on The Landon Hotel internet site in the document library. It is a classic experience document library and we're signed in today as Herald Wandelier. Herald is the site owner of this site. And as such he can require that people check documents in and out. We're gonna go ahead and select this document here: Classic versions. We're gonna click on our ribbon on the Files tab. And you'll see that we have this option here to check documents out. Now it is an option that's always there, but it is not always required. Anybody can check a document in and out whenever they want, but we're going to make it so that people have to check a document in and out.
