Create and upload a blank CSS stylesheet

- [Instructor] Let's start preparing to modify our site. Our first step is going to be creating a new blank style sheet and loading up to our SharePoint site. Now you can use any text editor application to create the style sheet. I'm going to use Windows Notepad because I'm basically a PC guy. Now since you can't load an empty file to SharePoint, I have to put in some placeholder text here. So what I'm going to do, this is the comment code for CSS. So it won't have any effect on our styles. Stroke, asterisk, and then put some, I'll say CSS, and then close it off with an asterisk and a stroke. Perfect. Now I'll save this as a CSS file. So we'll click file, save as, and then we need to change the file type from text documents to all files. And then we'll name this modified_style.css. That .css is extremely important. Do not forget that. Now I'm just going to save this to my desktop so it'll be easy for me to find. Click save and there we go. I can now close this. And I'll move that out of the way for the moment. So here I am, I'm in the site assets library for the website that we're going to be playing with. And I think that this is the best place to put your style sheet. So I want to load that file we just created into this library. I'll just open that back up. Here's the file we created. I'm just going to click and drag it in. If you all don't know about clicking and dragging, you're really missin' out. There's our new file. And that's really all we need to do for this step.
