Create a simple index
- [Narrator] We're back in our large SharePoint Contributions list, 7,000 entries. We're going to create a simple index. We're allowed to do this even though we have more than 5,000 entries because we have fewer than 20,000 items in this list. To create a simple list, let's go to List, and let's choose List Settings, and this works the same way in a library. It's Library, Library Settings. Scroll down, and under the Columns section, we want to click on Indexed Columns. We have a maximum of 20 indexes for each list or library. If we'd like to know more about them, there's information here. I'm simply going to Create a new index. The primary column for this index, and here are my columns, and they are listed in, notice, alphabetical order, not the order of the view that we just left.
